Elna-Marie Larsson, MD, PhD, is professor emerita of neuroradiology at Uppsala University and visiting professor at Linkoping University, Sweden.
She has published around 200 papers in peer reviewed scientific journals and 30 descriptive articles and textbook chapters. She has been main supervisor of 12 PhD students and co-supervisor of 10 PhD students who have defended their doctoral theses and is presently main supervisor of 2 PhD students and co-supervisor of 4 PhD students with ongoing doctoral research.
Ongoing research is focused on advanced cerebral MR imaging of the brain with applications in dementia and normal pressure hydrocephalus. Her clinical activity includes CT and MRI of the brain, spine and ear, nose and throat (ENT). She has been director of neuroradiology and of MRI at the department of radiology, Uppsala University Hospital.
She has been president of the European Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine and Biology (ESMRMB), the Swedish Society of Neuroradiology (SFNR), the Nordic Society of Neuroradiology (NSNR), and the Danish Society for Medical Magnetic Resonance (DSMMR).
